في المقابل، أكد الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا)، في بيان رسمي، عدم وجود أي حالة تسلل، موضحاً أن تقنية حكم الفيديو المساعد رصدت الخطوط الصحيحة، وأن العطل اقتصر على عدم عرضها للمشاهدين دون أن يؤثر على القرار التحكيمي.

ورغم الجدل، خرج المنتخب القطري بنقطة تاريخية هي الأولى له في كأس العالم، بعدما كان قد خسر جميع مبارياته الثلاث في نسخة 2022 التي استضافها على أرضه.

Refereeing Doubts
For his part, former German referee Thorsten Kinhöfer stated, “I expected an offside to be called, suggesting that the camera may have shown an incorrect angle or that the semi-automated offside technology experienced a malfunction.”
FIFA’s Response
In contrast, the International Football Federation (FIFA) confirmed in an official statement that there was no offside, explaining that the Video Assistant Referee technology detected the correct lines, and that the malfunction was limited to not displaying them to viewers without affecting the refereeing decision.
Qatari Achievement
Despite the controversy, the Qatari team earned a historic point, their first in the World Cup, after having lost all three of their matches in the 2022 edition that they hosted on home soil.
