تحولت أسعار النفط للانخفاض خلال تعاملات اليوم، مع تقييم التوترات الجيوسياسية في أوروبا ومنطقة البحر الكاريبي، خصوصاً بعد تعهد الولايات المتحدة بالاستثمار في قطاع النفط الفنزويلي.
وانخفضت أسعار العقود الآجلة لخام «برنت» تسليم مارس القادم بنسبة 0.40% أو 24 سنتاً إلى 61.52 دولار للبرميل.
وتراجعت أسعار العقود الآجلة لخام «نايمكس» تسليم فبراير القادم بنسبة 0.55% أو 31 سنتاً إلى 58.01 دولار للبرميل.
وأفادت تقارير، بأن إدارة الرئيس«دونالد ترمب تعتزم الاجتماع مع مسؤولين تنفيذيين في قطاع النفط الأمريكي هذا الأسبوع لمناقشة تعزيز إنتاج النفط الفنزويلي، بعدما تعهد الرئيس في وقت سابق بضخ استثمارات ضخمة.
كميات ضئيلة
من جهتها، قالت»ترافيجورا جروب«إن المجموعة وشركات أخرى تعتزم عقد محادثات مع الحكومة الأمريكية لبحث سبل استئناف شراء النفط الخام من فنزويلا. وأشارت في الوقت ذاته إلى أن البلد اللاتيني ربما يضيف كميات ضئيلة من النفط إلى السوق هذا العام.
يأتي ذلك في الوقت الذي أظهرت بيانات الشحن، توقف موانئ النفط الرئيسية في فنزويلا لليوم الخامس على التوالي، عن تسليم شحنات الخام لعملاء شركة النفط الحكومية»بي دي في إس إيه” في آسيا.
على جانب آخر، أعلن جهاز الأمن الأوكراني، اليوم، أن قواته استهدفت مستودعاً نفطياً في منطقة ليبيتسك الروسية، أسفر عن اندلاع حريق في المستودع.
Oil prices turned to decline during today’s trading, as geopolitical tensions in Europe and the Caribbean were assessed, especially after the United States pledged to invest in the Venezuelan oil sector.
Futures prices for Brent crude for March delivery fell by 0.40% or 24 cents to $61.52 per barrel.
Futures prices for NYMEX crude for February delivery dropped by 0.55% or 31 cents to $58.01 per barrel.
Reports indicated that President Donald Trump’s administration plans to meet with executives in the U.S. oil sector this week to discuss boosting Venezuelan oil production, after the president previously pledged to inject massive investments.
Minimal Quantities
For its part, Trafigura Group stated that the group and other companies intend to hold talks with the U.S. government to discuss ways to resume purchasing crude oil from Venezuela. At the same time, it noted that the Latin American country may add minimal quantities of oil to the market this year.
This comes at a time when shipping data showed that Venezuela’s main oil ports have stopped delivering crude shipments to customers of the state oil company PDVSA in Asia for the fifth consecutive day.
On another note, the Ukrainian Security Service announced today that its forces targeted an oil depot in the Lipetsk region of Russia, resulting in a fire at the depot.
