واصل الخليج صحوته بعد استعادته الثقة بفوزه الثاني على التوالي في الجولة الـ15 من الدوري، بعد الانتصار على نادي الاتفاق بنتيجة 2-1 على ملعبه في الدمام، ليؤكد الفريق أنه تجاوز مرحلة التعثر السابقة ويعود للمنافسة بجدية.
وكانت بداية عودة الخليج إلى الانتصارات في الجولة الماضية، بفوزه المهم على ضيفه ضمك، لتكون الشرارة التي أعادت الثقة للفريق.
وكان الخليج قد بدأ موسمه بصورة إيجابية تحت قيادة مدربه اليوناني دونيس، قبل أن يدخل في مرحلة تذبذب، خسر خلالها نقاطاً مؤثرة، بدءاً بالخسارة أمام النصر، ثم الخروج من بطولة كأس خادم الحرمين الشريفين بعد مواجهة قوية أمام الخلود، إضافة إلى الخسارة أمام الهلال، ثم السقوط على أرضه أمام الفتح، قبل أن يتعادل مع النجمة، وهي نتائج انعكست على موقعه في جدول الترتيب.
وفي مواجهة الاتفاق، ظهر الخليج بصورة أكثر تنظيماً، مع تحسن واضح في الشوط الثاني الذي شهد تحسناً واضحا في خط الهجوم وهو ما أثمر عن تسجيل هدف ثاني عبر الإسباني بابلو فيرنانديز الذي كان كافياً لتحقيق الفوز.
وبهذا الفوز، ارتفع رصيد الخليج إلى 21 نقطة، جمعها من ستة انتصارات وثلاثة تعادلات، ليتقدم إلى المركز الثامن في ترتيب الدوري على بعد نقطة من منافسه الاتفاق، مع طموح الاستفادة من هذه النتائج خلال الجولات القادمة، ومواصلة حصد النقاط.
Al-Khaleej continued its awakening after regaining confidence with its second consecutive victory in the 15th round of the league, following a 2-1 win against Al-Ittifaq at its home ground in Dammam, confirming that the team has overcome the previous phase of setbacks and is returning to serious competition.
The beginning of Al-Khaleej’s return to victories was in the last round, with an important win over its guest Damak, which served as the spark that restored confidence to the team.
Al-Khaleej had started its season positively under the leadership of its Greek coach Donis, before entering a phase of fluctuation, during which it lost crucial points, starting with a loss to Al-Nasr, then exiting the King Abdulaziz Cup after a strong match against Al-Khulood, in addition to losing to Al-Hilal, and then falling at home against Al-Fateh, before drawing with Al-Najma, results that reflected on its position in the standings.
In the match against Al-Ittifaq, Al-Khaleej appeared more organized, with a noticeable improvement in the second half, which saw a clear enhancement in the attacking line, resulting in a second goal scored by the Spanish player Pablo Fernandez, which was enough to secure the victory.
With this win, Al-Khaleej’s points tally rose to 21, collected from six victories and three draws, moving up to eighth place in the league standings, just one point behind its rival Al-Ittifaq, with the ambition to capitalize on these results in the upcoming rounds and continue accumulating points.
