افتتح ريال مدريد التسجيل بعد خمس دقائق فقط من انطلاق المباراة عن طريق غونزالو غارسيا، لكن ميكيل أويارزابال عدل النتيجة لصالح سوسيداد في الدقيقة 21 من ركلة جزاء.
تفوق مدريدي قبل الاستراحة
وبعدها بأربع دقائق فقط، وضع البرازيلي فينيسيوس جونيور ريال مدريد في المقدمة مجدداً بتسجيل الهدف الثاني من ركلة جزاء أيضاً، ثم أحرز فيديريكو فالفيردي الهدف الثالث للملكي في الدقيقة 31.

ومع بداية الشوط الثاني، تحصل ريال مدريد على ركلة جزاء جديدة ترجمها فينيسيوس إلى هدف، ليقضي على آمال الضيوف في العودة إلى أجواء اللقاء.
