خسر منتخبنا الوطني للناشئين أولى لقاءاته في كأس العالم تحت 17 سنة من أمام منتخب النمسا بهدف دون مقابل، في اللقاء الذي جمع بينهما ضمن لقاءات المجموعة 12 للمونديال المقام حالياً في قطر.
شهد اللقاء بداية قوية لمنتخب النمسا وتمكن المدافع سعيد العمودي من التصدي لتسديدة برأسه، وسدد هونيك كرة قوية مرت فوق العارضة، ومن كرة ثابتة سدد يوهانس موسر كرة خادعة تصدى لها الحارس عبدالرحمن العتيبي لتعود الكرة للمهاجم دشيشكو ليسددها قوية وتصدى لها العتيبي مرة أخرى، وتحصل لاعب النمسا لوكا فينهاندل على بطاقة حمراء بعد حصوله غلى البطاقة الصفراء الثانية إثر تدخله القوي على إبراهيم عزام، ومن ركلة حرة نفذها عبدالرحمن السفياني عالية أبعدها المدافع فلوريان هوفمان برأسه لركلة زاوية، ومن ركلة ثابتة وصلت الكرة لمدافع النمسا بوكورني ليثبتها ويسددها بلعبة مقصية أبعدها الحارس العتيبي بصعوبة، ومن ثم سدد هوفمان كرة قوية ارتطمت في العارضة.
ومع بداية الشوط الثاني سدد يوهانس كرة قوية تصدى لها العتيبي وارتطمت في العارضة، وفي غضون 3 دقائق انقلبت الموازين على المنتخب السعودي إذ تسبب عادل عياش في ركلة جزاء لمنتخب النمسا سددها بنجاح يوهانس موسر كهدف أول للنمسا (د: 55)، وبعد دقيقتين تحصل ناصر الفيحاني على بطاقة حمراء، وفي الوقت بدل الضائع تحصل سعيد الدوسري على بطاقة حمراء لتسببه في ركلة جزاء للنمسا تصدى لها الحارس العتيبي، لينتهي اللقاء بفوز النمسا بهدف دون مقابل.
